COVINGTON, Ga. - On Friday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at Piedmont Newton Hospital's main parking lot for a blood drive. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, and a generous one-pint donation can impact up to three patients in need.

To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: NPH. A photo I.D. is required at the time of donation. 

Here are some tips to help you prepare to provide a donation:

•             Eat iron-rich foods, green veggies and red meat

•             Drink plenty of water, get your vitamin C and avoid caffeine

•             Sleep well and get plenty of rest
