When you make your first postseason appearance in more than a decade, you’re likely going to garner the respect of your peers.

That proved to be the case for the Social Circle football team this fall. Fresh off their first playoff berth since 2009, five Redskins earned All-Region 8-A Public honors this week.

Representing Social Circle on the All-Region First Team Offense were quarterback Logan Cross and wide receivers Eric Taylor and K.J. Reid. The Redskin defense received some love as well, highlighted by All-Region First Team Defense members Tucker Clearly, as a linebacker, and Mason Moore, as a defensive back.

First-year head coach Rob Patton led Social Circle to a 4-7 mark this fall. The team closed out the regular season with back-to-back victories over Towns County and Greene County before being knocked out of the playoffs by Macon County in the opening round.
