The Newton High School Rams began spring football training camp for the upcoming season Monday, looking to build on last year's playoff run.
The Rams will host their annual blue and white game at 6 p.m., Friday, May 17 at the school's practice field.
Newton is heading into next season with a new head coach in Terrance Banks. Banks is taking over for Cortez Allen, who was Newton’s head coach from 2010-2012. Allen had a 17-14 record as the Rams head coach.
Banks comes to the Rams after serving as the wide receivers coach for the varsity and head JV football coach at Duluth High School. This is the first head-coaching job for Banks.
