For her efforts on the cross country course, Eastside runner Taylor Jones has been named the Eagles' Athlete of the Week.

In her last two races, the junior has placed in the top-100 of her two meets.

Jones placed 90th overall at the Sept. 28 Rock Ranch Invitational hosted by Warner Robins High School, finishing the race in a time of 28:48.69.

Jones also finished 73rd overall with a time of 28:10.58 at the Sept. 14 Winder-Barrow Invitational.

Eastside cross country coach Leah Carlisle said that Taylor's dedication sets her apart from others.

"The best thing about Taylor is that I know she is going to give it everything she has on race day," Carlisle said. "Her passion and dedication have made her a leader for us this year."

The women's team caption also has a 35th place finish earlier this season in the Eagles' first meet of the year at the Ninth Annual NEGA Cross Country Championships hosted by Athens Christian High School.
