In a joint effort to raise money for their respective football programs, Alcovy and Eastside football programs are hosting what has been dubbed “The Largest Exercise Equipment Sale in the Southeast.”

While both schools are known for their own unique fundraising ideas, the county rivals have decided to come together to split the profits down the middle for each school.

Alcovy head coach Chris Edgar noted that the working relationship between him and Eastside’s head coach, Troy Hoff, is a good one. “Coach Hoff and I have a goof professional relationship,” Edgar said. “When I was hired, he helped me tremendously. He had just gone through it a year before.”

On top of future fundraisers that Edgar is still trying to possibly decide on, the 50-50 split of the profit split of this sale will help cover the high cost of running each football program.

“A football program occurs annual costs for equipment refurbishing, new equipment, game filming, meals, etc.”

He also noted that the equipment – which includes everything from treadmills, weights, trampolines, basketball goals and outdoor living items - came from a liquidator who asked to be anonymous, while stating that he “wanted the event to be about the kids from these two programs.”

“This sale will help him clear warehouse space and help our two programs at the same time,” Edgar said.

The sale will take place Saturday July 15th at the Legion Field Pavilion on 3173 Mill Street NE, Covington Georgia 30014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All of the equipment is 50% off retail price.
