Alcovy’s Donovan Terrell picked up Most Outstanding Wrestler of the year honors in Region 3-AAAAAA this week.
The 170 pound senior grabbed the recognition being crowned region champion after winning his first ever tournament.
Terrell was one of eight Alcovy Tiger grapplers (out of 14) who qualified for this weekend’s sectionals, which will be held at Lanier High School in Gwinnett County this Friday and Saturday. Four of coach William Wells’ eight qualifiers are freshmen and sophomores.
“I’m very proud of my guys,” Wells said. “A large percentage of my full line-up are freshmen. It’s definitely a growing year for Alcovy.”
