Alcovy won a heated cross-town matchup on Wednesday, but did so in dramatic fashion.

The Tigers edged Eastside 2-1, taking eight innings to do so.

Alcovy (10-2-1), which was coming off just its second loss of the season a 6-1 defeat at Ola, used a late-inning error to take the victory.

It was Eastside's second straight loss, after falling 4-2 to Morgan County on Saturday.

The Eagles and Tigers both played Thursday night.
