It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as Conyers and Rockdale celebrates the Hometown Holidays, Olde Town Christmas party, Rotarians fill empty stockings and Santa makes multiple event appearances.

The United Way Breakfast with Santa fundraiser at Conyers First United Methodist $600 for the NewRock Family Promise program, an interfaith hospitality network for homeless families.

The Hometown Holidays Parade saw a grand turnout despite a few glitches. Parade guests of honor Santa Claus and Mrs. Claushad to get out and walk when the 1968 fire engine broke down at two points. The parade also paused when an eager parade watcher was reportedly side-swiped when they rushed out to grab candy on the street that had been thrown from the floats. The child was reportedly not seriously injured but was examined by paramedics on the scene.

The Rotary Empty Stocking event saw participation from 75 Rockdale and Conyers Rotarians and high school students from RCHS, Heritage, and Salem early Sunday morning at Target to select gifts for 250 local children in need.

Here's a few scenes from the weekend's activities.
