A man on the run for a robbery in Texas has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, just after 9 p.m., the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the U.S. Marshals Service to assist in the arrest of a man wanted out of Austin, Texas for Aggravated Robbery.
The suspect, Austin Waters Jansen, 19, of Shadydale, Ga., was located at the Honey Creek Village shopping center eating dinner.
The U.S. Marshals Service had been attempting to find the suspect since October and was able to find him Wednesday night. The suspect was taken into custody by marshals and deputies, and he was transported to the Rockdale County Jail.
Jansen is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail as a Fugitive from Justice and is awaiting extradition to Texas.
“Our partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service continues to get dangerous criminals off the streets of Rockdale County,” said Sheriff Eric Levett. “This arrest shows that no matter where criminals commit their crimes, the U.S. Marshals Service and Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office will track you down and send you to jail.”
