More than 100 children from families in need experienced a Christmas full of gifts thanks to the fourth annual Conyers Police Department Shop with a Cop event at the Conyers Walmart on Dec. 17, 2011.

"This year's program had 105 children and volunteers from Conyers Police 911 Operators and other city employees, deputies and staff members of Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, Troopers from Georgia State Patrol and spouses of officers," said organizer Officer Shyra Hardwick.

Sponsors for this year included Walmart, Conyers Honda, Nutrition Depot, Fred's, Kiwanis Club, Mellow Mushroom, Jorge Flores Law Firm, and Sparkman and Associates. Value Village allowed the shoppers and officers to use their space to meet and Quik Trip gas station on Ga. Highway138 and Chic-fil-A provided breakfast. Mr. and Mrs. Claus made an appearance as well, made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Ivey.

The Shop with a Cop program was started in 2008 by Sgt. Greg Carson.
