RCSO deputy and certification manager Holly Lafontaine was recognized for her role in achieving the RCSO's state certification by the GACP.

The Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police presented the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office with its state re-certification during the Tuesday morning Board of Commissioners meeting. GACP Director Mark Bender presented the certification and noted that only 107 agencies out of more than 500 in the state were certified and had met the 129 standards required to achieve this distinction. The RCSO has achieved state certification since 2002.

Rockdale Sheriff Erik Levett commended the men and women of the RCSO and the command staff."It's a very lofty acomplishment and we're very proud that the RCSO is certified," said Levett. Having a state certification allows the RCSO to ensure it is providing top service to residents and to improve the services to residents, he said.

Certification Manager Holly Lafontaine was recognized for her work in overseeing the compliance. "The certification manager is where the rubber meets the road. It's the one that wears out the carpet between the chief's office and the agency," said Bender
