Mr. Robert "Bob" King, 76, of Conyers and a retired carpenter, died Dec. 9. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Michael King, parents Lonnie and Etter King and brothers Billy King and Tinsey King. Mr. King moved to Conyers from Alabama in 1962. He was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and loved his wife and family. He was loved by all and treated all who came through his door as family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Bernice King, Conyers; brother Horace King, Monticello; sisters Annie Lee White, Conyers, Jean King, Russellville, Ala.; nieces and nephews, who were like his children, David and Linda King, Barbara and Larry Clay, Annette and Danny Godwin, Donna Smith, Brad and Tracy Conner, Sherry and Terry Braley. From these he had 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 11, 2009 at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wilson and the Rev. Roger True officiating; Interment followed at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
