Six members of the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office achieved a new level of professional recognition when they were promoted to supervisory ranks last week.

Over the past few weeks, Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies and current corporals took part in the intense promotional process. The first part of the process is a written examination, followed by a panel interview by law enforcement supervisors from outside agencies. Following the interviews, deputies and corporals were then ranked from a combination of their test and interview scores.

The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies that were promoted to the rank of Corporal are Shasta Duren and Tijuana Harris. Those promoted from to the rank of Sergeant are Dan Lang, Amanda Pilgrim and Kuan Smith. Nikie Weathersby was promoted to the rank of Captain and will now serve as the assistant jail commander under Major Mike Kinlein.

"I am extremely proud of the deputies that were just promoted," said Sheriff Eric Levett. "These men and women are the newest supervisors and leaders that the residents, business owners, and visitors to Rockdale County will encounter on a daily basis. They have all worked hard to get where they are at the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office and should be proud of their accomplishment."
