UPDATE: Gubernatorial candidate Jason Carter may not be stopping by Rockdale and President Jimmy Carter may be arriving around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday will be a whirlwind of political events and activity in Rockdale, including a visit by former Ambassador Andrew Young and former President Jimmy Carter.
As part of the campaigning, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jason Carter will be stopping by Rockdale for his second visit to the county, at 10 a.m. at the Rockdale Democratic Party headquarters at 1264 Parker Road. Accompanying Carter will be his grandfather, former President Jimmy Carter, and Judge Glenda Hatchett of the television show "Judge Hatchett."
Later in the evening, the Rockdale Democratic Party hosts "An Intimate Evening with Ambassador Andrew Young," with the former mayor of Atlanta and congressman. This reception, held at Cameron Hall, 1035 Green Street, will start at 6 p.m. for the VIP and 7 p.m. for the regular reception. VIP tickets are $75 and regular tickets are $50. Local candidates will also be holding events up to Election Day.
Board of Commissioners Post 2 Commissioner and Republican candidate JaNice Van Ness's campaign will be phone banking, visiting voters and waving signs Saturday starting at 10 a.m. from the Van Ness campaign headquarters at 1417 Parker Road. The campaign also hosts a prayer meeting Sunday, 5 p.m., at the headquarters, and a breakfast meet and greet Monday, 7:45 a.m., with Breakfast at Betty's Country Kitchen. Tuesday, the campaign will hold a potluck at the headquarters, starting 7 p.m., as the election results come in.
BOC Post 2 Democratic candidate Dr. Doreen Williams and her campaign volunteers will be canvassing neighborhoods, going door to door, Saturday, 1 p.m. - 4 pm. and again Monday afternoon. Residents may also get a phone call from volunteers phone banking through the weekend and Monday. Williams will also be part of the Saturday morning rally with Jason Carter and Jimmy Carter and at the event with Ambassador Andrew Young.
