Power has been reported out in some parts of Rockdale County as severe thunderstorms roll through the area.

As of 7:13 p.m. on Friday, Georgia Power reported on its Twitter feed that 59,000 customers in the Metro Atlanta are were without power.

The National Weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Rockdale County, saying there's a  50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. West wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
