Mrs. Willa Knox Heafner Davis, age 97 of Conyers, died Sunday, May 29, 2011.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gen. Raymond G. Davis, USMC.  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gil and Carol Davis, Covington, Miles and Linda Davis, Seminole, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Willa and Wayne Kerr, Conyers; grandchildren, Beth and David Clark, Jeff and Kristin Davis, Spencer Davis, Adam Davis, Shana and Neil Anthony, Erin and Jason Lovelace, Hailey Kerr; 6 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, George and Ruth Heafner; sisters, Hilda Fite, Deen Sipe; sisters-in-law, Ruby Heafner, Jessie Heafner; several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Davis was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church.  She was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College and taught for 7 years in North Carolina.  She loved her family and the United States Marine Corps.  Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Dr. John Beyers officiating; interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Union City.  Family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL  32256 www.woundedwarriorproject.org.  Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.  Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, GA 30012, 770-483-7216.
