Rockdale County High School theater brings to life the chilling dramatic tale by Oscar Wilde, "The Picture of Dorian Gray," on stage Oct. 19, 26, 27 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. at the high school theater. Tickets are $5. Under the direction of Gus Godby, the cast includes Spencer Kelly as Impressario, William Ragsdale as Dorian Gray, Rayshawn Roberts as Lord Henry Wooten, Michael Knoblock as Basil Hallward, Colleen Keeler and Sydney Lewis as Sibyl Vane, Jade Newton as Mrs. Leaf, Destin Hardgrove as Jim Vane/Police officer.
In Wilde's story, which sparked outrage when published 1890, beautiful Dorian Gray sells his soul for the chance to retain his outward youth and beauty while pursuing debauchery and sin. Instead, a portrait painted of him ages and shows the ugliness Gray holds inside.
