UPDATE: (Feb. 12, 2:00 p.m.) Villa-Gomez was an electrician and father of two young children and had no major criminal history, according to the RCSO.

(Feb. 11, 11:16 a.m.) Villa-Gomez's family reportedly called Auburn police to notify them that he was missing, but because he was an adult and missing less than 24 hours, the complaint was noted and a lookout was put on his vehicle, according to the Barrow County News. During that time, his vehicle was found burned in Rockdale County.

Villa-Gomez was arrested by Barrow County Sheriff's Office in 2008 on charges of driving without a valid license.

(Feb. 8, 8:57 p.m.) The man whose body was found burned in the back of a pick-up truck reportedly last spoke to his wife on Friday afternoon, but never came home from work that evening. Investigators suspect the vehicle was brought to Rockdale County early Saturday morning and torched.

(Feb. 7, 3:29 p.m.) Investigators have identified the burned remains found in the back a burned pick-up truck on Saturday.

 The victim was identified as 36-year-old Martin Mendoza Villa-Gomez of Auburn, Ga., according RCSO Sheriff Jeff Wigington. The truck was registered to Villa-Gomez.

Investigators are still awaiting autopsy results as of Monday afternoon.

(Feb. 5, 2:09 p.m.) The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a person that was discovered in the back of a burned pick-up truck.

The Rockdale County Fire Department was enroute back to quarters after responding to an auto accident, and noticed a burned vehicle off the roadway on Turner Road near Abbott Road around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. After looking into the vehicle, they discovered the remains of a body in the bed of the truck.
