It's time for arts lovers, performers, musicians, artists and community supporters of all stripes to lace up their running shoes for the second annual Arts in Motion 5K/1-mile run/walk fundraiser for the Conyers-Rockdale Council for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The route for the event, which starts at 8:30 a.m. for the 1-mile and at 9 a.m. for the 5K, begins at 910 Center Street and winds through Olde Town Conyers.

"It's a great way for people of all ages to come together and support what we do at the Arts Council," said CRCA Director Jackie Sprague. "The Arts are so important to the vitality of a community." 

Registration is $20 before the race, $25 on the day of the race, and $10 for just the 1-mile fun run. Participants can register at active.com or download an application form to bring to the CRCA office at 910 Center Street.

Only pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt.

"We had a great turnout last year and are hoping this year to be even better!" said Sprague. Walkers are welcome, she said. "Bring your family and turn it into a fun Saturday morning outing while supporting the CRCA."
