Rockdale County asks residents and businesses to support cats and dogs who need forever homes by donating to a pet supply drive on Sat., April 19, 8 a.m. - noon, at the Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Shelter, 1506 Rockbridge Road, Conyers, 30012.
The half-day charitable event, which Hand Across Rockdale hosts in partnership with Rockdale County Animal Care and Control Division, encourages the community to donate shelter supplies, tour the facility, learn more about Animal Care & Control services, and adopt happy animals just waiting for someone to take them home.
Animal adoptions are available to residents ages 18 and over with a photo ID. Adoption fees for dogs are $30 and $20 for cats. Fees for residents who live outside Rockdale are $35 for dogs and $25 for cats. Adoption fees include a certificate for rabies inoculation, vaccines, deworming, samples of food/treats, and coupons.
Donations will be accepted for the following items:
• Purex /liquid laundry detergent
• Paper towels
• Bleach
• Dry dog and cat food
• Animal toys (that are safe to bleach)
• Treats (no rawhides)
• Animal beds, towels, blankets
• Animal shampoo
• Collars and leashes
• Mops, brooms, dustpans, scrub brushes, and squeegees
• Hand sanitizers
• Air wick plug-in air fresheners or refills
• Cat litter
