We were extremely pleased to hear that the Newton County Library will be re-opened on Saturdays starting July 11.
The library’s new Saturday hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We appreciate the efforts of Library Director Greg Heid and his staff as well as the Newton County Board of Commissioners for recognizing residents’ needs and accomplishing this reopening. Not only will the library extend its hours, but also library staff will roll out new programs for children and adults. See CovNews.com’s community section for details on the new programs.
We pray that people, in spite of the Internet and television and other technology, will never lose their desire to go to a library and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that comes from being lost in the pages of a good book.
