Flying high

The never-say-die Eastside Eagles, who were for all practical purposes discounted after the first couple of games of this season, have soared back into the limelight to be in strong contention to play for the state Championship in division AAA.

The Eagles, led by coach Rick Hurst, are flying high late in the season for the second consecutive year.

This year must be more satisfying for the team and its fans because 2009 was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

Eastside takes on Jackson tonight at Jackson. If are heading to the game, cheer extra loudly for all of us here in Newton County who feel the pride and accomplishment of this fine Eagle football team.

Go Eagles!
