Dear Editor: I've always prided myself as being neutral when it came to voting...but can I say that anymore? It really saddens me, but I don't believe that I can. After watching the Democratic Convention, it seems like they have pretty much drawn the line in the sand.
• They have openly voiced a choice to embrace abortion
• They have openly voiced a choice to embrace same-sex marriage
• They have openly voiced a choice to drop references to God
If I were a Christian Democrat, I would be mad at my party for taking the stance it has taken. What has happened to this party? It used to be that you could vote for a Christian Democrat in that party, but now what good would it do when the party as a whole doesn't represent Christian values at all. I can't believe this is happening in America. Why don't the Christian Democrats stand up to the administration and stop this nonsense. They deserve to have a say in their own party too!
Newcomers to America have no idea how much it has changed for the bad, and in such a short amount of time. America used to be a great place to live. I'm only 52, and the America that I grew up in is pretty much gone. It's up to us to bring the old America back so that we all can prosper.
Common sense says that 80 percent of the people working will help a nation grow faster than 52 percent of the people working. Do we really want to become a nation dependent on its government?
I was raised to believe that America was the land of the free. Can we still say that...will we be able to say that in another four years? We all must vote responsibly, and with a conscious for "values" before the America that we all know and love is destroyed. Our children's futures are at stake.
If you are a Christian, do you feel that you can vote as a Democrat anymore? Better yet, will voting for someone who doesn't represent God's values bring his judgment upon you?
