Dear Editor : The elections are over, and I want to personally thank the citizens of Newton County, who live in District 3, for supporting me in my campaign efforts to be their next Board of Education member. I wish the outcome would have been different, but I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to run in this race. My campaign team worked hard, and I believe we left no stone unturned. I compare my loss to the Super Bowl and the World Series. Teams work so hard to get to those games, but in the end, there can only be one official winner; however, each team that plays is a winner in its own way. I believe that even though I did not officially win this election that I am a winner because I did something that I believe in and because I did my very best.
Since the elections are over, it is now time for us to hold each elected official accountable, because our children and our grandchildren’s futures are at stake. Our children and grandchildren deserve the best, and hopefully, the citizens of Newton County will stand with me to ensure they get the best education that they deserve. In closing, I have learned many things while running my campaign, and I will use this knowledge in my future endeavors. It has been a long journey, but it was worth the trip. Again, I want to thank the citizens of Newton County for supporting me, and I hope to see you again on the campaign trail.
Thanks Newton County
