Public forum on school topics
Placeholder Image

To the editor: I am writing to invite Newton County residents of all districts to my fourth public forum on school topics. I will host "School Board on Your Corner #4" on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Eastside High School. I will bring updates from my April training delivered by the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) on "Finance & Accountability" and allow time for public input.

While I represent district one I encourage all Newton residents, with and without children in NCSS, to join me to learn more about the challenges facing public schools nationally, at the state level, and locally, including things to look for in the 2013 General Assembly. The quality of public schools impacts every community member. Additionally, I will share my thoughts on House Resolution 1162 to appear as a referendum on the General Election ballot on November 6, 2012.

If you missed my January 6 public forum please email me for a copy of my Power Point presentation from that event. I thank the electorate of District One for putting their faith in me to represent them with veracity and strength as public education faces tremendous challenges.

It is my honor to work hard to support students, classrooms, and teachers.
