Dear Editor: The Stone Mountain Baptist Association’s Disaster Relief Feeding Unit has been deployed to the Glen Forest Baptist Church in Mableton to begin mass feeding by noon on Monday. This is in response to the floods in Metro Atlanta and in at the request of the Georgia State Emergency System in cooperation with FEMA. We have been asked to initially provide 3,500 meals a day. The first team will leave early Monday morning and the second team is being enlisted for deployment on Thursday.

Our last deployment was in response to Hurricane Katrina where our unit provided 800,000 meals to hurricane victims. Our local unit currently is in a negative cash position. We are funded entirely by the gifts from our churches and individuals. Contributions may be made payable to the Stone Mountain Baptist Association. Place on the check, For Disaster Relief. Checks may be mailed to the Association at PO Box 911 Conyers, GA 30012

Your support and prayers for this valuable ministry is appreciated.
