Letter: Partners in Education

Dear Editor,
It’s been a fast-paced start to the school year, but I would be remiss if I didn’t stop and take a moment to thank some very special people who helped us get the year started off right. Once again, our Partners in Education helped us welcome our new teachers by providing door prizes for our New Teacher Induction Program. We received beautiful gift baskets, gift bags, tote bags, numerous gift cards and much, much, more! The new teachers were definitely excited at the prospect of taking home one of the wonderful gifts provided.

Although we announce the name of each business or organization that donates a door prize at the time of the drawing so our local community is also aware of their commitment, I’d like to publicly thank the following school Partners in Education for donating door prizes for our new teachers: Bank of North Georgia; Blimpie; Communication Workers of America; Covington Family Dentistry, LLC; Macedonia Baptist Church; Michelin North America, Inc.; Mock Properties; Newton County Georgia Association of Educators; Newton County High School Class of 1950; Newton Federal Bank; Piedmont Newton Hospital Auxiliary; Pilot Club of Covington; Pinnacle Bank; Second Harvest Woodcraft; Snapping Shoals EMC; Starrsville United Methodist Church; and Walmart on Salem Road.

Thank you so much for supporting our schools! And thank you to all of our Partners in Education who continually support our students and schools throughout the school year. Our community is blessed with businesses, organizations, churches, and civic groups that truly care about the children and employees of Newton County Schools. We look forward to working with all of them during the course of the 2016-2017 school year!

Sincerely,
Sherri Davis-Viniard
