Dear Editor: On Tuesday Aug. 3, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Cornelia Police Department in apprehending a suspect wanted for armed robbery here in Habersham County. In addition, investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, together with the Loganville Police Department, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies.
This letter is to commend Sheriff Ezell Brown and his staff for their exemplary, professional, and dedicated assistance. This office was involved in assisting on legal matters related to the investigation and case, and had an opportunity to witness their work first hand. Every member of my staff was impressed with the level of assistance, knowledge, and courtesy exhibited by the members of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Brown’s investigators and deputies represented your community well. We work with many agencies on many different issues, and your Sheriff’s Department showed the kind of work ethic, courtesy and professionalism that puts them among the best.
