Dear editor,

I do not live in Newton County, but I do work in Covington. I try to tell our military I appreciate their service when I see or come in contact with them. I now would like to extend the same to all of the 1st responders in Covington, Newton and surrounding areas.

We here so much and see so much in the media about our police officers. They are so quick to point out police brutality instead of getting the whole story before they put it in writing. The media is biased and think all the citizens in this nation want to hear is the bad stuff. It is time we stand for our law enforcement officers that put their lives on the line each day for us. My heart goes out to the families of those that have lost loved ones in the line of duty recently. We must keep these families in our prayers each day and also the ones that are out there each and every day putting their lives before anything to sere and protect the citizens of Covington and Newton County.

I appreciate each of you every day and pray that God will protect you as you protect me and others in this community.
