To the editor: Both sides in the U.S. Congress disagree, sometimes in the most disagreeable terms. But they maintain decorum when the situation requires a respectful tone. That cannot be said for two members of the Covington City Council. The last council meeting of 2011 was also the last meeting with Mayor Kim Carter presiding. At the end of the meeting, the council members said appropriate words thanking and recognizing Mayor Carter's service to the community... all but two, that is. It is unfortunate for the city that pettiness of this kind is displayed by some of our elected officials.
