Dear Editor: The Miracle League of Newton County would like to express its sincere appreciation to the Newton branch offices of BB&T, Bank of North Georgia, Newton Federal and United Bank for partnering with us during the month of March to raise awareness of the exceptional children of our community. These fine financial institutions allowed signage in their branch offices (as well as some monetary donations to be collected) to help educate and raise awareness of the over 2,400 special needs children and youth we have here in Newton County.

The money that was collected within the branch offices will be used to help pay for the construction documents for our Miracle League Complex, which will be built at City Pond Park and managed by the Newton County Recreation Commission. The Miracle League will ensure that every Newton County child has the opportunity to play baseball - regardless of any physical or mental disability he/she may have. Thank you again to these four local institutions for their participation in this awareness campaign.
