Reneé Meadors Hansen, 56, of Watkinsville, GA, passed away June 28, 2011, at her mother’s home after a long illness. Reneé was born in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Covington, GA. She graduated from Newton County High School and continued her education at the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. She thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, in Conyers; and was also active at the First United Methodist Church, in Athens, as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Lee Meadors, Sr.
Surviving are her husband, Chris Hansen; daughters and son-in-law, Libby Hansen, Laura and Chris Koch; mother and step-father, Beth Meadors and James Hutchins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Danny Miller, Elizabeth and Rod Giannace; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Joy Meadors; nieces, Maria Meadors, Lindsey Miller, Caroline Meadors, Anne Marie Giannace; nephews, Jack Meadors, Justin Giannace.
Funeral Services for Reneé will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Covington First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath and Rev. David Moore officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, July 1, from 6-9 PM.
