Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Otto, age 76, of Covington passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, Georgia.  She was born March 17, 1938 in Greensboro, Georgia to Tommy and Berth McAllister McElhannon.  Mrs. Otto graduated from Greensboro High School and attended and graduated from March Business College with an Associate’s Degree.  She worked for and retired from Macy’s Department Stores completing a 35 year career.  After her retirement she started a second career working for Newton Medical Center, working on physician accreditation.   She was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and loved watching Tom Glavine and Chipper Jones play. Mrs. Otto was also an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was a helpful person to everyone and loved to sing in the choir.  Mrs. Otto is survived by her husband Ken Otto of Covington, their children Kevin Otto (Marcie) of Orlando, Florida, Keith Otto of Cumming, Georgia, Kelly Byrne (Joe) of Covington and Kerry Otto of Stockbridge.  She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Otto will be held at 7:00pm, Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Dr. David C. Moody officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to The Breast Cancer Charities of America.  J.C.
