Mr. Ron Blomberg, age 72 of Oxford, formerly of Conyers, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Emory University Hospital. He was born November 24, 1941 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Arthur and Margaret Blomberg who have preceded him in death. Mr. Blomberg had a long and successful career in the mortgage business. He served as the Southeast Regional Manager for SunTrust Mortgage and owned and operated Service First Mortgage for a number of years. Ron also was a licensed real estate agent working for Coldwell Banker in Covington. He was a member of The Father’s House Church in Conyers. Mr. Blomberg served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed being involved in his community and was very active in the Newton County Republican Party. Along with his parents Ron’s brother Bob Blomberg also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife with whom he recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, Jan Blomberg along their children John and Stephanie Blomberg of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Scott and Angie Blomberg of Covington, his grandchildren Ansley and Elisabeth Blomberg, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Tony Gray of Conyers, Debbie and Jerry Harris of Oxford and his sister-in-law, Jeff Blomberg of Covington along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Blomberg will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Hogg officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donation be made to The Father’s House, 1203 Royal Drive, SW, Conyers, GA 30094 dedicated to missions.
