Otho Lane of Social Circle, passed away November 26, 2014, at the age of 94. Mr. Lane was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly defending his country in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, taught the Joy Sunday School Class and served on the board of Deacons. He was a Gideon, member of Kiwanis and past member and Deacon of Avondale First Baptist Church. While at Avondale, he also taught the junior boys’ Sunday School class. Mr. Lane enjoyed spending time outside in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Elias and Attie (Wetherbee) Lane.

Survivors include his wife, Janet B. Lane; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Rebecca and John Knoll of Rosalia, KS; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Lane of Newborn, Russell and Lynn Lane of Duluth, Robert and Maximina Lane of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Kendra Garcia, Kenneth Knoll, Kimberly Moore, Robin Lane; great-grandchildren, Kayden Knoll and Landry Moore.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lane will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, 11 a.m., at Mansfield Baptist Church, with Dr. Jeff Perkins officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, Nov. 30, from 2– 4 p.m. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Mansfield Baptist Church, Building for Kingdom Growth, P.O.
