Mildred “Ms. Bill” Catchings of Covington died September 24, 2011 at the age of 82. She was born in Talladega Springs, AL, to the late Amos and Mary Elizabeth “Kelly” McDaniel and was the widow of the late Herbert Hoover Catchings. She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Herbert Catchings and 10 brothers and sisters. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Catchings is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Todd and Karrian Catchings of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Tina Faye and Billy Black of Covington, grandchildren, Tammy Wheelis of Covington, Timothy O’Neal Catchings of Stockbridge, Tiffany Nicole Catchings of Covington, James McGilvray of Mansfield, Dustin Westbrooks of Covington, Sara Meier of Madison, Kylea Cook of Knoxville, TN, Jacob Meier of Jackson; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Pearl Word of Covington.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Catchings will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2011, in Lawnwood Memorial Park with Pastor Phillip Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the Access Road location of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home from 1 – 3 P.M., prior to the service. Flowers are accepted or a love offering may be made in memory of Mrs. Catchings to help with funeral expenses.
