Thomas Mr. James Michael “Mike” Thomas, 65, a longtime resident of Covington, died August 10, 2009. He was born April 13, 1944 to the late Hoke Smith Sr. and Jessie Edwards Thomas in Fulton County Georgia. Mr. Thomas loved car racing and sailing, he was a loving and caring person. Mr. Thomas is survived by his Son David Thomas of Covington, Brothers and Sister Charles Thomas, of Charlotte, NC Hoke Thomas Jr. and Carol Collins, both of Covington. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, other family and close friends also survive him. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Franklin officiating, interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
