James  Marvin Robertson of Covington, GA died Sunday July 24, 2011 at his residence.  He was born on August 11, 1921 in Lithonia, GA to James Homer and Katie  Lou Shumate Robertson.

 He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed farming and tending to his garden, watching the Braves play and listening to country music. He  loved his country and the American flag.

Mr. Robertson is survived by his loving  wife of 62 years: Betty Wilkins Robertson; daughter and son-in-law: Gloria and Terry Farmer of Covington GA;  son and daughter-in-law: Rodney and Paula Robertson of Covington GA; daughter in law: Kay Robertson of McDonough GA; sisters: Roselle Bowers and Gladys Warbington and brother: Lewis Robertson of Lithonia GA; grandchildren: Kevin Robertson, Travis and wife Heidi Robertson, Jason Farmer, Taylor, Ethan and Logan Robertson; great grandchildren: Kade, Ireland and Stella Robertson; several nieces and nephews .

 He is preceded in death by parents: Homer and Kate Robertson; son: Ricky Robertson; brother: Thomas Robertson; and sisters: Betty Jean Robertson and Ethel Dobbs.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday July 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev Kenneth Hughes officiating.  Interment will be at Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00 PM. Guest may sign the online register book at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
