Jackson Barnett "J.B." Stokes, 82, of Douglasville, passed away June 24. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Stokes had lived in Paulding County for the past 11 years. He retired from Southern Bell after over 40 years of employment and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was an avid hunter, and belonged to the Ridge Road Hunting Club, and he attended Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Jerri Ann Rakestraw Stokes of Powder Springs; daughters Jackie Stokes of Conyers, Donna Stokes Crow and husband Jerry of Monticello, and Wanda Stokes Strawn and husband Kelly of Conyers; the mother of Jack's daughters Barbara Nephew Stokes of Covington; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held June 28 in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with the Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
