Gladys D. Lipscomb of Porterdale, passed away December 28, 2010, at the age of 88. Mrs. Lipscomb moved to Porterdale in 1963, and worked for Bibb Manufacturing Co., for 19 years. She enjoyed watching her soap opera, "Days of Our Lives"; the game shows, "Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader" and "The Price is Right", and various court TV shows. Most important to her was the love and pride of her family.  Mrs. Lipscomb was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lipscomb; daughter, Renea Bell; and her parents, Raymond Earnest and Emma May (Wilson) Dunagan.

 

Survivors include three children, Alene and Hubert Grier of Smyrna, Mike Lipscomb, Judy Lipscomb, both of Porterdale; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Hugh Lee Dunagan of Smyrna, Paul and Joyce Dunagan of Rome; beloved niece, Sandra Hall; son-in-law, Roy Bell; several other nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside Services for Mrs. Lipscomb will be held Friday, December 31, 2010, 11:30 AM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, with Rev. Tim Walden officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., Thursday, December 30, from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, GA 30025.
