Faye W. Huckaby of Covington, passed away May 13, 2011, at the age of 69. Mrs. Huckaby worked as Customer Service Supervisor for the City of Covington, and retired from the City, after 39 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, she worked as an Admissions Assistant for Oxford College. She was a faithful member and elder of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Huckaby was a member of the Pilot Club of Covington; and was very active in Newton County Relay for Life. Her family and friends formed a team, Wayne's T-Birds, in honor of her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Huckaby; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Woodward.

 

Survivors include her sisters and brother-in-law, Elsie Blair, Ann and Jim Brooks, all of Oxford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howell and Jane Woodward, Charles and Alexis Woodward, all of Covington; sisters-in-law, Janice Pennington, and her husband, Junior, of Covington, Betty Gates of Conyers, nine nieces and nephews; several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Huckaby will be held Monday, May 16, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Rev. David Rogers and Mr. Robert (Bob) King officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, May 15, from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM.
