Mr. Dan Aaron, 89, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. He was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Mansfield to Rabun A. and Ellie Lawson Aaron who have preceded him in death. Mr. Aaron grew up in Mansfield and attended Mansfield High School. Following high school, Mr. Aaron proudly served in the United States Army for three years stationed in Japan. He worked for Scientific Atlanta as a machinist and was among one of the first employees. Mr. Aaron loved nothing more than being at home and working in his yard and garden. He raised Black Angus cattle for a number of years and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Aaron was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mrs. Ruth Aaron his son and daughter-in-law Dacus and Susan Aaron of Covington his grandchildren Brandy and Chuck Taylor of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina his great-grandchildren Ella and Dax his sister Grace Johnson of Covington and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Aaron will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday, March 29 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gibson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt.
