Bobbye Maddox Cawthon, 84, of Jackson, died April 29 at the Abby Hospice in Social Circle. She had been residing at Autumn Village Assisted Living Center in Jackson. She was born in Butts County, in 1927 one of 11 children of Glenn C. and Leila Mason Maddox. She was wife of the late John Curry Cawthon. Mrs. Cawthon was a secretary for Eastern Air Lines for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Covington.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Neil and Patsy Earnhart of Jackson, daughter Royeese Stowe of Chamblee, stepson and daughter-in-law Don and Susanne Earnhart, Jackson, three grandsons, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Other than her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Pat and Hammond Barnes, grandson Dale Earnhart and all her sisters and brothers.
Funeral services for Bobbye Maddox Cawthon will be at 3 p.m. today, May 1, in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Dr. Don Martin will officiate with interment in the Jackson City Cemetery.
