Bobby Nichols, a longtime resident of Mansfield, died April 25 at Social Circle Nursing and Rehab. The son of the late Luther Nichols and Ellie Johnston Nichols, he was born in Newton County in 1929. Mr. Nichols owned and operated a barbershop on Ga. Highway 162 for 37 years, was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are wife of 53 years Annette "Sally" Womack Nichols; daughter Vickie Wade of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law Jan and David Pope of Lithonia; son and daughter-in-law John and Rita Nichols of Mansfield; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 27, from the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends may sing the online register at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
