Mr. Albert B. Ozburn, Jr. 83 of Newborn passed away on October 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Ozburn was born in Mansfield, Ga. to the late Albert and Mary Lou Ozburn, Sr.. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. Mr. Ozburn was a member of Newborn Methodist Church where he was a former treasurer, Sunday school superintendent, Board Chairman and member of the Choir. He was the founder of the Newborn Memorial Cemetery Perpetual Care Trust and a founding member of the Newborn Area Heritage Trust. He was a member of Mansfield Masonic Lodge # 489 and a member of Rhienhardt University Alumni. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving are his wife Betty Campbell Ozburn of Newborn, son and daughter in law Sammy & Rhonda Ozburn  and daughter and son in law Julianne & Ricky Schell, all of Covington, brother Anthony Ozburn, brother in law John Adams, both of Covington, sisters in law Elizabeth Ozburn, Covington, Pat Ozburn and Margaret Ozburn of Mansfield and Kathryn Bouchillon of Covington, grandchildren Matt Schell, Greenville, SC, Kelly Swords, Newborn, David Ozburn, Macon, Libby Bratton, Greenville, SC, Britt Ozburn, Covington,  4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his first wife Julia Polk Ozburn in 1997 and his brothers Harold Ozburn, Kelvin Ozburn, Regious Ozburn and Bobby Ozburn and his sister Louise Adams. Funeral services for Mr. Ozburn will be held on Thursday October 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Newborn Methodist Church with Rev John Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at Newborn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 4 to 8 pm at Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Newborn Methodist Church, 118 Church Street Newborn, Georgia 30056 or Newborn Memorial Cemetery Fund, 147 N. Johnson Street, Newborn, Ga. 30056.
