Theme school meeting to be held Tuesday

For parents who are on the fence as to whether or not the Newton County Theme School at Ficquett is the right place for their child, or those just looking for more information about the parental involvement theme school, administrators will be ready to supply you with all the information you need Tuesday night.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school's cafeteria, parents can learn more about the school, the registration process and future plans. Administrators will be on hand to answer questions and a video and presentation will be given as well.

Applications will be available that evening and will be accepted at the school from Feb. 1-29. They can also be downloaded at www.newtoncountyschools.org.

The theme school currently houses kindergarten through sixth grade. Seventh grade will be added next year and eighth grade is expected to be added the year after that. In the school system's five year plan, the theme school will eventually move to where Eastside High School is now and a replacement will be built for that school.
