No ethics complaints against Carpenters

An open records request to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission revealed there have been no complaints filed against Deputy Superintendent for Operations Dennis Carpenter, Alcovy High School Principal LaQuanda Carpenter or Newton County School System Superintendent Gary Mathews.

The GAPSC is authorized by the state to "establish and uphold ethical and professional standards within the teaching profession," according to their website. They have the authority to conduct investigations into complaints against educators.

A complaint may be filed through the GAPSC website or through mail after printing out a complaint form. Questions can be posed to the educator ethics division at (404) 232-2700, or online at gapsc.com.

Open records requests from the NCSS also revealed that neither Carpenter had any official negative reports or complaints filed in their personnel records.
