NCSS announces winners of bus safety poster contest

Newton County School System (NCSS) is pleased to announce that Brian Lopez and Hannah Hinton are the winners of the district’s annual School Bus Safety Poster Contest! The theme of this year’s contest was “Cross in View, it’s the Right Thing to Do!” According to NCSS Assistant Transportation Director Randall Luna, their posters will now represent Newton County Schools in the Georgia competition. 

Division I Winner: Brian Lopez was the winner in the district’s Division I poster competition, comprising students in grades kindergarten through second grade. Brian, age six, is a second-grader in Ms. Wendi Carnes’ class at Ficquett Elementary School. 

Division II Winner: Hannah Hinton’s poster won the district’s Division II competition, comprised of studentsin grades three through five. Hanna is a fifth-grader at Oak Hill Elementary School. Hannah worked on her winning picture in Mr. Calvester Graham’s art class at school. She is 10-years-old.
