Meadors' attorney asks for BOE docs
Request made as part of dropped civil lawsuit against Carpenter

An attorney for Newton County School Board District 1 representative requested several documents from the BOE last week.

The request was made as part of the recently dropped civil lawsuit between Meadors and Alcovy High School principal LaQuanda Carpenter, who dropped her lawsuit Tuesday, several days after the request was filed.

In the request by Meadors' attorney Jeffrey Foster, the BOE is asked to produce:
1) All written policies in effect and any proposed amendments, involving the employ of persons related by blood or marriage to other employees, since Jan. 1, 2008.
2) All written policies in effect and any proposed amendments, involving employees having supervisory roles of other employees to whom they are related, since Jan. 1, 2008.
3) All written policies, in effect and any proposed amendments, regarding accounts and auditing of student activity fees and other funds paid or raised by students for clubs, school trips, or other extracurricular activities, since Jan. 1, 2008.
4) All receipts, reports, audits, invoices or other documents detailing the receipt or disbursement of money for student activity fees or other funds paid or raised by students for clubs, school trips, or other extracurricular activities from Jan. 1, 2009 to the present at Alcovy High School.
5) Any documents detailing or describing the job description and duties of Dr. Dennis Carpenter since his employment by the Newton County Board of Education, including any amendments or alternatives thereto.
6) Any and all documents related to allegations and the subsequent investigation, of alleged financial irregularities or mismanagement of student activity fees or other funds paid, or raised by students for clubs, school trips, or other extracurricular activities at Alcovy High School since Jan. 1, 2009.
7) Any and all documents related to allegations and subsequent investigation of alleged purchase and consumption of alcohol on a school sanctioned trip since Jan. 1, 2009.
8) All written policies in effect and any proposed amendments regarding purchase and consumption of alcohol on a school sanctioned or official school trip since Jan. 1, 2009.
9) Any and all documents detailing the department head or supervisor that reports to the Superintendent regarding the following departments or operations within the Newton County Public School System:
a. Transportation
b. Personnel
c. Operations
d. Facilities
e. Individual school budgets and the accounting for student activity fees or other funds paid for or raised by students for clubs, school trips, or other extracurricular activities.
10) Any and all documents detailing graduation rates, SAT performance, ACT performance, EOCT performance, graduation test performance or other system-wide or nationally administered standardized test and performance for Newton County Public School System High Schools from Jan. 1, 2008 to present.
11) Employee personnel file for Plaintiff Dr. LaQuanda Carpenter.
12) Employee personnel file for Dr. Dennis Carpenter.
