Children may be back in school but summer fun isn’t finished yet. The Learning Center is holding a luau fundraiser to support programs that help make sure that every Newton County child arrives at school ready to read.

 Your donation to The Learning Center Luau gives you access to food, beverages, a live band, as well as silent and live auctions.

 Just a few of the premier items to be auctioned include AirTran tickets to any destination in the continental U.S., a stay at The Mansion on Forsyth in Savannah, golf bag and play package, and a UGA theme party. Current event sponsors include Lattimer and Associates and Kay and Frank Turner.

 The event will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Porterdale Mill Lofts on Ga. Highway 81. Ticket donations are $45 per person or $90 per couple.
